Add your products and prices
Your catalogue is what you sell. Your rate card is what it costs you, your margins and your install costs. Every figure is yours, ex GST, and every save makes a new version.
Admin → Catalogue and Admin → Pricing. Owner only. Packages are saved from Make a proposal → System.
Add a product
- Open Admin → Catalogue and go to Add a product.
- Search by brand or model. Narrow it with Panels, Inverters or Batteries.
- On a result marked Ready to quote, press Add.
- Type what it costs you, ex GST. For a battery, that’s the base unit (the hybrid) and each battery module.
- Press Add to my catalogue. Your next quote can use it.
When the product isn’t ready
- Request this product: for a result marked Specs on request. We usually add it within one business day and email you when it’s ready to quote.
- Add a custom product: for something not on the list at all. You enter its kind, brand, model and size. A custom product is quoted without certificates or the battery discount, and the proposal says so.
Set your margins and install costs
- Open Admin → Pricing.
- Under How you price, tick the states you quote in and set the margin floor: the least any job keeps after discounts.
- Choose how you add your solar margin: a percentage on top of the solar cost, dollars per kW of panels, or a fixed amount per job. Then set racking and solar labour, each in dollars a watt.
- Do the same for batteries: dollars per battery job, a percentage of hardware and install, or dollars per usable kWh. Then the battery install cost per job.
- Check What your kit costs you: each panel, inverter and battery you sell, with its cost.
- Under Extras you charge, press + Add an extra for each site cost you charge: a name for the quote, how it’s priced (per job, panel, unit, metre or km, or after inspection), the amount ex GST, and which jobs it applies to.
- Under Discounts and custom prices, set the rep’s share of the margin above the floor, and how much of it needs no approval.
- Press Save as rate card version. Earlier versions are listed under Rate card history.
A discount or a free extra can never take a job below your floor.
Update costs from a supplier price list
- In Admin → Catalogue, go to Update costs from a supplier price list and press Choose a price list. It takes a CSV or an Excel (.xlsx) file, up to 5 MB and 3,000 rows. Only the first sheet of a workbook is read.
- Match the columns. Model number and Cost to you, ex GST are needed; brand and kind are optional. Jouli guesses from the header row, and you can change every guess. Tick This column includes GST — take it off (divide by 1.1) if your supplier’s prices include it.
- Press Preview the changes. You see every cost that would change and by how much, which rows didn’t match, and which products you don’t sell yet.
- A cost that moves by more than half needs its own tick: Moves by more than half — yes, this is right.
- Press Update to save the new costs as a new rate card version.
The file is read on your device. Only costs of products you already sell change. Products you don’t sell yet are listed with Add to my catalogue or Request this product, and nothing is added for you. To reverse an update, press Undo it beside the last price list. A cost changed again since then is left as it is.
Save a package
A package is a system you sell often, added to a proposal in one go, at its own price.
- In Make a proposal → System, build the system. Choose the panel by name, not Auto — Jouli picks.
- Press Save this system as a package…. Only an owner sees it.
- Name it as your reps will see it, for example “6.6 kW + 10 kWh battery”.
- Give its price including GST, before certificates and rebates, or leave it blank to price it item by item.
Your reps then pick it from Package at the top of the System step. The job keeps the package price while it stays that system. Certificates still come off per product, extras on top are priced as usual, and your floor still holds. Packages are listed, and removed, under Admin → Pricing → Packages.
