What your customer sees, and how they sign
Your customer gets one page, in your company’s name, that they can read, save and sign on any device. Here is what’s on it and what happens when they sign.
Your customer’s link. To see it yourself, press Open on the proposal’s card: that’s a preview, and isn’t counted as an open. Or see a sample proposal.
What’s on the page
In order, leaving out anything a job or your company doesn’t use:
- Your system, itemised
- The money, with nothing folded in: the system price, each certificate or rebate as its own line, and Your price after incentives. Finance and any options are here too.
- What it should do on your roof: the modelled generation and savings, and what they were based on.
- Warranties, separately stated
- How your installation runs
- Paying for it: the payment stages from your contract terms.
- Your rights, in writing, your warranty and the consumer information.
- The honest bit: plain notes from the draft on what the system will and won’t do and, where there is one, a priced alternative they can ask for instead. Your company can switch this section off in Admin → Proposal.
- Accept and sign
The page carries your legal name, ABN, address and licences. It prints only the accreditations your company has recorded. Save as PDF ↓ opens the browser’s print dialog. A printed copy says signing happens on the page.
Choosing an option
If you added an Option B, the customer sees both, with I’d like this one on each. Pressing it re-prices the proposal for that option and emails them the new version, usually within a few minutes. They can press once for each version sent.
How they sign
- At Accept and sign, they check Your full name and Email for your confirmation.
- They sign in the box with a finger or a mouse, or press Use my typed name.
- If you offer finance, they choose How will you pay?.
- They tick the acceptance box and press Accept & sign.
On a phone, a bar at the bottom reads “Review and sign” and takes them to the sign box. The price is checked again at the moment of signing. If it has changed, the signature is refused and the customer is told you’ll re-quote rather than surprise them.
If you ticked Instant accept, there’s no drawing and the button reads Accept. If you ticked Proposals need our countersignature, the customer sees “Signed — awaiting countersignature” until an owner or Support presses Countersign on the card in My proposals.
After they sign
- The page says Accepted and signed, and the customer is emailed a written confirmation with the price, the GST and the deposit, and a link to their signed copy.
- Your office and the consultant are emailed.
- If Xero is connected, the deposit is raised as a draft invoice. If not, your office is emailed to invoice it by hand.
- The card in My proposals shows SIGNED, and the job moves to Install pack.
The cooling-off notice
When you answer How did this sale start? with We approached them (a door-knock or a cold call), the proposal treats it as an unsolicited sale:
- An Important Notice to the Consumer prints at the front, stating the 10-business-day right to cancel.
- The cancellation information and a cancellation notice print before the signature, with the ways to cancel: in person, by phone, by email or by post, on the notice or in their own words.
- The first payment reads Booking deposit after your cooling-off period. No deposit invoice is raised, and Finance won’t raise one, until the period ends. Jouli counts it from the day after signing (or after your countersignature, if you countersign), skipping weekends and public holidays.
- Your company’s legal name, ABN, street address and email have to be set up before such a draft is made.
Jouli prints the notice and holds the deposit. Deciding how a sale started, and meeting your obligations for it, stays with your business. See clause 5 of the terms.
Certificates and GST, as printed
Each certificate discount (small-scale technology certificates, and the federal battery discount where it applies) is its own line off the system price. The page names who creates and assigns the certificates: your company, if it has recorded that it is a registered agent, or “our registered agent” if not. The GST included in the price is stated with the basis it was calculated on: the price after the certificate discounts.
That’s how Jouli lays the figures out. The price, the certificate figures, their assignment and the GST treatment are your business’s, and you check them before you send. See clause 7 of the terms.
When an offer lapses
After the offer window (21 days unless you changed it), the page says the pricing has lapsed and offers Ask for an updated quote, which emails your support address. Refine the proposal and send it again; see variations and re-quotes.
